Axe attack on police officer: Mossel Bay teens’ bail application delayed

Four teenagers accused of attacking a police officer with an axe will remain in custody until their next bail hearing.

The bail application for four teenagers charged after an axe attack on a police officer in Albert Luthuli Park in Mossel Bay last month has been postponed.

According to the Mossel Bay Advertiser, the teenagers, aged 16 to 19, appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday for their bail application.

It is alleged they attacked a Da Gamaskop Police Station constable in the early hours of 25 May, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

The four were arrested on the day of the attack. Their bail application has been postponed to Tuesday.
