Blue Flag temporarily lowered for Victora Bay

Swimming and water activities are currently not advised at the beach in George.

Victoria Bay Beach’s Blue Flag has been temporarily lowered, and swimming and water activities are currently not advised due to water quality monitoring.

This precautionary measure aligns with Blue Flag regulations and ensures compliance with the highest standards of public health and safety.

Regular water sampling is conducted by an accredited service provider at key locations, including areas near potential sources of pollution. All results are verified by independent laboratories to ensure accuracy.

The Blue Flag will be reinstated once new sample results confirm that water quality meets the required standards.

“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation as we work to protect public health,” reads a press statement by George Municipality.
