Body found on N1 highway near Gordon Road offramp
Local authorities are investigating the incident.
A body was found on the N1 highway near the Gordon Road offramp in Maraisburg on Tuesday, June 27, reports the Roodepoort Record.
“At approximately 11.06am, ER24 paramedics found the body of a man, believed to be in his 30s, lying in the middle of the highway under the pedestrian bridge,” said Russell Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.
Several vehicles came to a stop, causing the traffic to back up.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead on the scene,” said Meiring.
The details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities will investigate the matter.
