Body of elderly woman found in surf of Ramsgate beach
People were walking along the beach when they spotted something that looked like a human floating in the water.
The lifeless body of an elderly woman was retrieved from the surf of Ramsgate beach in KwaZulu-Natal earlier this week.
According to a press release by Netcare 911, paramedics were called to the scene on Monday morning amid reports of a drowning.
“Reports indicate that members of the public walking on the beach spotted what looked like the figure of a human floating in the surf,” the statement read.
According to Netcare 911, the bystanders jumped into the water and retrieved the body of an elderly woman.
Paramedics assessed the woman but found that she showed no signs of life. She was declared dead on the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown. The body was handed over to the police’s Search and Rescue Unit for further investigation.
