Body of missing 3-year-old girl found in Bloemfontein bushes
Police are investigating after the body of three-year-old Katleho Joy Leeuw, reported missing by her mother, was found.
Free State police in Bloemfontein are appealing to the public for assistance following the discovery of the body of a three-year-old girl who was previously reported missing by her mother.
Bloemfontein Courant reports that Free State police spokesperson Thabo Covane confirmed that the child, identified as Katleho Joy Leeuw, was found in dense bushes near Glen Location.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that she was sexually assaulted and murdered. A case of murder has been opened at Glen Police Station, and forensic experts are combing the scene for evidence,” Covane explained.
Residents with any information that could help identify and arrest the suspect(s) are urged to contact Sergeant Lebogang Dikgacoi at 083 585 1951 or 051 407 3600. Information can also be shared anonymously via the MySAPS App or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
