Another life has been lost at the notorious cliff at Herold’s Bay.

The George police have registered an inquest docket for further investigation after the body of a 30-year-old man was recovered from Voëlklip at Herold’s Bay yesterday, reports George Herald.

Western Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie said a joint recovery operation was launched after neighbourhood watch members at about 05:00 reported to police that they had spotted a VW Polo, which had gone over the cliffs at Voëlklip.

“The deceased was last seen alive on Saturday between 23:00 and midnight. The victim was declared deceased by medical personnel on scene. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Investigation continues.”

The emergency medical services, SAPS water policing, forensic pathology rescue teams and local police took part in the joint operation.
