Boy (9) accused of raping 6-year-old girl near Secunda

The girl alleges she was raped four times and was given R10.

A 6-year-old girl was raped in Azania informal settlement at eMbalenhle near Secunda on August 20.

According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, the child’s mother noticed a white substance flowing from her child when she was bathing her. The mother rushed the girl to a nearby clinic.

After she was examined by a nurse, it was confirmed that she had been raped. She was referred to Evander Hospital.

The little girl told her mother that she was raped four times by a 9-year-old boy who gave her R10.

Mthethwa says police have opened a rape case and it will be referred to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for investigation.

According to the Child Justice Act, children under the age of 10 cannot be arrested or charged for an offence.
