Cashier dead after filling station heist near Vereeniging

A filling station cashier died in hospital after being shot during an armed robbery last night.

A cashier was shot during an armed robbery at a TotalEnergies filling station in De Deur near Vereeniging last night.

The incident happened at around 21:00.

The suspects are said to have fled with an undisclosed amount of money they stole from the cash register.

They were seen fleeing in a blue Suzuki vehicle.

The cashier succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
