Centurion minibus crash leaves one dead, 18 injured
It was reported on the scene that the minibus’s tyre burst and the driver lost control.
One person was killed and 18 others were injured when a minibus overturned on the N1 highway N1 South after Botha Avenue in Centurion on Monday morning.
“It was reported on the scene that the minibus’s tyre burst and the driver lost control,” said Rufus Engelbrecht of Emer-G-Med.
“A total of 19 patients were found on scene. One person passed away due to injuries he sustained and two others suffered critical injuries. They were all treated on scene before being transported to nearby facilities.”
Other patients sustained minor to moderate injuries, Engelbrecht said.
Traffic was heavily backed up following the crash.
