Police are investigating the death of a man who was burned to death just metres from ‘Mudville’ in Merlewood, KwaZulu-Natal.
The charred body of the 45-year-old security guard was found in the early hours of Thursday morning, the South Coast Herald reports.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the man was found next to a fire at a site where he was apparently employed to guard construction equipment.
“Police found his bags nearby. An inquest docket has been opened,” Wiid added.
