ConCourt sets date for UDM, EFF secret ballot case
The highest court in the land is set to hear the opposition parties’ application on May 15.
The Constitutional Court will hear an application brought by the United Democratic Movement (UDM) and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to compel Parliament to conduct a secret ballot on a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma on May 15.
UDM leader Bantu Holomisa confirmed the date on Twitter on Wednesday.

The case by the opposition parties is being opposed by National Assembly speaker Baleka Mbete and President Jacob Zuma.
Mbete and Zuma argued in their submissions before the court that the constitution was silent on motions of no confidence in the president being conducted by way of a secret ballot.
The motion of no confidence was set to be debated on April 18, but it was postponed following a request from the DA to allow the ConCourt to rule on the matter.
