The discovery was made during an unscheduled walk-about by police.
On an unscheduled walk-about, Greenwood Park SAPS officers shut down an illegal shebeen.
In its effort to reduce crime in the area, SAPS Greenwood Park station decided to take a walk through Briardene Informal Settlement on Friday.
Officers noticed a man drinking alcohol in public, while on their patrol.
“Police questioned the owner of the shebeen the man bought the liquor from, and they discovered the proprietor was not a licensed dealer,” said the station’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Leon Audh.

The owner was arrested by Greenwood Park SAPS and all of the stock was confiscated.
