Covid-19: 572 new deaths reported in past 24-hours
A total of 2 585 474 tests have been conducted in the country. Gauteng remains the worst affected province, followed by the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape.

572 new Covid-19 related deaths brings the total for South Africa to 5 940, with 394 948 positive cases thus far and 229 175 recoveries reported.

In the past 24-hours, the Eastern Cape has over-taken Gauteng with the number of deaths. Yesterday the Eastern Cape had a total of 945 deaths. This number jumped to 1 345 overnight. Gauteng has thus far reported 1 156 deaths.
