Covid-19: Another 45 Covid-19-related deaths recorded in Mpumalanga since yesterday

The Mpumalanga Department of Health has confirmed that the number of coronavirus cases in the province has increased to 15 376.

South Africa has recorded 516 862 confirmed infections, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Monday August 3.

A total of 15 376 of those cases have been reported in Mpumalanga. According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, there have been 8 674 recoveries and 123 deaths to date.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

  • Bushbuckridge: 365 cases, 273 recoveries and four deaths
  • City of Mbombela: 2 183 cases, 1 123 recoveries and 10 deaths
  • Nkomazi: 773 cases, 493 recoveries and four deaths
  • Thaba Chweu: 215 cases and 110 recoveries.

Gert Sibande District

  • Chief Albert Luthuli: 352 cases, 178 recoveries and three deaths
  • Dipaliseng: 254 cases and 181 recoveries
  • Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 540 cases, 316 recoveries and five deaths
  • Govan Mbeki: 2 252 cases, 1 243 recoveries and 22 deaths
  • Lekwa: 770 cases, 386 recoveries and 23 deaths
  • Mkhondo: 282 cases, 156 recoveries and 14 deaths
  • Msukaligwa: 907 cases, 401 recoveries and eight deaths.

Nkangala District

  • Dr JS Moroka: 262 cases, 162 recoveries and three deaths
  • eMakhazeni: 180 cases and 95 recoveries
  • eMalahleni: 3 756 cases, 2 213 recoveries and 14 deaths
  • Steve Tshwete: 1 460 cases, 826 recoveries and five deaths
  • Thembisile Hani: 451 cases, 299 recoveries and four deaths
  • Victor Khanye: 374 cases and 255 recoveries and four deaths.
