Disruptive rain warning for parts of Limpopo

The South African Weather Service has predicted rainfall of between 50mm - 100mm for certain areas.

LIMPOPO – The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned of heavy rain over the north and north-east parts of Limpopo as the outer bands of tropical depression Ana move over the escarpment and lowveld regions.

The warning commenced at 17:00 on Wednesday (January 26) and is expected to continue into Thursday (January 27) until 10:00.

The service warned of heavy downpours across parts of the Capricorn, Vhembe and Mopani districts.

 

 

Localized flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads, low-lying areas and bridges can be expected.

The service warned residents in the affected areas to off the roads and to not cross swollen rivers and streams.
