Dog killed in N14 accident

The driver of the vehicle, who was travelling with two dogs, sustained minor injuries.

A dog was killed following an accident on the N14 highway in Centurion on Monday afternoon.

According to ER24 emergency service, a vehicle towing a trailer carrying wood and a bakkie collided whereby the trailer jack-knifed and flipped the vehicle over.

“The driver of the vehicle, who was travelling with two dogs, sustained minor injuries but declined to be transported to the hospital. One dog was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries.”

ER24 said that the dog was provided with some pain relief medication and taken to Muldersdrift vet for further medical attention.

“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all involved, the dog succumbed to his injuries at the veterinarian. The second dog was found to be unharmed,” ER24 said in a statement.
