Driver shot 5 times, passenger wounded in attack en route to Port Edward
A driver and passenger who survived a shooting en route from Bizana to Port Edward were taken to hospital after reaching a police station.
It was a close call for a driver and his passenger after they were shot multiple times while travelling from Bizana in the Eastern Cape to Port Edward, KZN, last night.
South Coast Herald reports that, according to Med-Evac Ambulance Services spokesperson Glen Preston, paramedics responded to an emergency call from the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) in Port Edward.

“The driver and his passenger (a woman) managed to get to Port Edward Police Station where NSRI members were called to assist. The driver was shot five times and his passenger once. They were stabilised and on our arrival our team took over the patients’ care before transporting them to an appropriate medical facility for further treatment,” explains Preston.
An official investigation will be carried out by the police.
