Duo shot and killed in Centurion, man executed in Verulam
A shooting incident at a Gauteng shopping centre has claimed two lives, while another fatal shooting incident occurred in KZN.
Three people were shot and killed in two separate incidents today.
In the one incident, at a shopping centre in Centurion in Gauteng, a man and woman were killed.
Pretoria Rekord reports that Cert-SA in a statement said its Centurion crew responded to reports of a shooting incident at the Byls Bridge Promenade shopping centre at around 09:40.
“Upon arrival, a man was found fatally shot in the parking lot. Further assessment revealed that a woman was also fatally shot at her workplace inside a shop in the mall.”
Furthermore, the exact circumstances surrounding this incident are not yet clear.
Cert-SA said police are processing the scene and have launched an investigation into the matter.
“We extend our gratitude to Emergency Medical Solutions and Sec-med, who were first on the scene, for their assistance. Additionally, we thank PRSS Holdings, Monitor Net, Noordvaal, Fidelity ADT, SAPS, Axon Security, and all other services for their help at the scene.”
Man shot in Verulam
In a separate incident in KZN, The Witness reports that a man was executed at his home on Station Road in Canelands, Verulam, north of Durban, during the early hours of this morning.
Prem Balram, the spokesperson of Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), told the publication that the company received multiple calls for help.
“Residents contacted the Rusa operations centre at approximately 03:15 requesting assistance after they discovered the unresponsive male in his informal home.”
The man was found in his bed and 12 spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene, according to Balram.
