Durban drive-by shootings: one dead, two critical
A tow truck driver was killed on the N2 near the old Durban Airport.

Two drive-by shootings in Durban yesterday have left one man dead and five injured in an accident that happened after the shooting while in the second incident, two people sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
A man and woman sustained gunshot wounds following a drive-by shooting in the Park Hill area of Durban North yesterday afternoon.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen says paramedics responded to the incident in Union Crescent together with Netcare 911.
“[We] found a Volkswagen Polo peppered with high calibre bullet holes. An adult male and female sustained gunshot wounds and were in a critical condition,” he says.
“Advanced Life Support paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the patients, before they were transported by ambulances to a nearby hospital for further care.”
In a second incident, this time in the south of Durban, a tow truck driver was killed near the old Durban Airport site on the N2.
Van Reenen says five people sustained minor to moderate injuries in a multiple vehicle accident after the shooting.
The police will investigate the matters further.
