Elderly man forced into car during Pacaltsdorp house robbery

Police hunt two suspects after an 84-year-old man was attacked and forced into his car after the men took valuable items from his home.

Pacaltsdorp detectives are on a manhunt for two suspects after an 84-year-old man was attacked and forced into his own car during a brazen house robbery in Disa Street yesterday afternoon.

According to George Herald, the victim was at home around 15:30 when the men stormed in. He was robbed of groceries, a wristwatch, a Samsung cellphone, bank cards and cash before being dragged outside and forced into his vehicle.

According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, the pensioner managed to escape and alert neighbours.

The robbers fled and remain at large.

Police confirmed that a house robbery case has been opened. Warrant Officer Frik van Aswegen urged the public to come forward with any information that could help track down the suspects.
