Elderly woman found decapitated in Limpopo village

An 85-year-old woman from Ga-Kuranta in Limpopo was found brutally murdered yesterday.

Authorities call the scene where the decapitated body of an elderly woman was found with several stab wounds ‘disturbing, devastating and inhumane’.

Maidi Malefofane’s body was discovered in her house on Tuesday at around 06:00. She was murdered with a sharp object and had several serious injuries, according to police reports.

“It is very disturbing to see an elderly woman violated in this manner. It cannot be that we have people in society who do not respect the rights of elderly citizens of our province,” Limpopo MEC for Social Development, Nkakareng Rakgoale, says in a statement.
