Eskom says that stage 4 load-shedding will remain in effect until 16:00 whereafter stage 5 power cuts will return until 05:00 tomorrow.

The stage will then be lowered back to stage 4 and continue until 05:00 on Saturday.

Stage 3 power cuts will then come into effect until 16:00 on Saturday, followed by stage 4 power cuts from 16:00 on Saturday until 05:00 on Sunday.

“A further update will be published as soon as any significant changes occur. Breakdowns currently amount to 17 149MW of generating capacity [loss] while 4 950MW of generating capacity is out of service for planned maintenance,” Eskom adds.
