Eskom announces planned load-shedding schedule until Wednesday
Stage 3 power cuts resume this afternoon, but there is a possibility that the stage of load-shedding might increase at short notice.

After a few hours of reprieve, load-shedding is set to resume at 17:00 according to Eskom.
The power utility announced that stage 3 power cuts will be in effect from then until 16:00 tomorrow.
Thereafter, Stage 5 load-shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on Wednesday.

Eskom says the higher stages of rolling blackouts are a result of breakdowns currently amounting to 14 940MW, while a further 7 215MW of generating capacity is unavailable due to planned maintenance.
The power utility also warns that ‘the expected increase in demand after the Easter weekend’ will add to capacity constraints and that an ‘increase in the stage of load-shedding may be required at short notice’.
