Eskom announces planned load-shedding until Monday

Rotational stage 3 and 4 power cuts are forecast for the weekend but may change at short notice, the power utility warns.

Eskom has announced that lower stages of load-shedding will be implemented from tomorrow.

The power utility says that stage 6 power cuts will remain in effect until 05:00 tomorrow whereafter it will be lowered to stage 3 between 05:00 and 16:00.

Eskom says from tomorrow, rotational load-shedding of stage 3 (05:00-16:00) and stage 4 (16:00-05:00) will be implemented until Monday morning.

The power utility, however, warns that these stages may be changed at short notice. Breakdowns currently amount to 15 930MW of generating capacity loss, while a further 6 505MW is unavailable due to planned maintenance.
