Eskom downgrades load-shedding stages
Lower stages are on the cards for the weekend, as long as generating units return to service as planned.

Eskom has downgraded its load-shedding stage for tonight and early tomorrow. Stage 3 will continue until midnight and no longer switch to stage 4 during peak hours tonight. There after stage 1 will be implemented until tomorrow at 05:00.
Tomorrow, stage 3 will kick in at 05:00 until 16:00 where after stage 4 load-shedding will be implemented until midnight.
The power utility says the weekend schedule is dependent on generating units returning to service.
The following stages are currently planned from Friday to Monday:
- Friday: Stage 2 from midnight until 05:00.
Stage 3 from 05:00 until midnight. - Saturday: Stage 1 from midnight until 07:00.
Stage 2 from 07:00 until 16:00.
Stage 3 from 16:00 until midnight. - Sunday: Stage 4 from 16:00 until midnight.
Loadshedding will continue to be implemented at Stage 3 until midnight. No longer Stage 4 as previously communicated. Furthermore, the overnight load shedding at Stage 2 will be reduced to Stage 1 from 00:00-05:00.
