Eskom downgrades load-shedding to stage 4
Further reprieve for South Africans as power cuts lowered another stage.

After experiencing continuous stage 6 power cuts for a whole week, Eskom has in the last few hours twice downgraded the stage of load-shedding.
The power utility initially announced that stage 5 load-shedding will be implemented at 05:00 and continue ‘until further notice’.
However, in some reprieve for citizens, Eskom has since announced that from 09:00, power cuts have been downgraded to stage 4.
Stage 5 loadshedding will be implemented from 05:00 on Sunday morning – until further notice. Eskom will publish a full statement in due course.

A full statement by the power utility is still awaited in regards to current system constraints.
Leadership changes
Eskom on Friday announced that CFO Calib Cassim has been appointed as acting group CEO to replace André de Ruyter who was relieved of his duties on Wednesday.
