Eskom escalates load-shedding to stage 3
Stage 2 load-shedding was planned to be implemented for evening peak, but the stage had to be heightened according to the power utility.

Stage 3 load-shedding was implemented at 18:11, Eskom says.
The power utility says the escalation is ‘due to a higher than anticipated demand experienced tonight’.
Eskom adds that this stage will continue until 16:00 tomorrow when the schedule they announced this afternoon, will be implemented.

Previously announced schedule
This means that another escalation will follow at 16:00 tomorrow when stage 4 will be implemented for the peak period until 05:00 on Friday.
Stage 3 load-shedding is then set to come into effect at 05:00 on Friday and continue until 05:00 on Saturday when rolling power cuts will be lowered to stage 2.
Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented from 05:00 on Saturday until 05:00 on Sunday. Stage 1 load-shedding – that citizens are currently experiencing – will again be implemented on Sunday (between 05:00 and 16:00).
Finally, stage 2 power cuts will then return at 16:00.
Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented as previously communicated from 16:00 today until 05:00 on Thursday. Thereafter, Stage 3 loadshedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 on Thursday followed by Stage 4 loadshedding until 05:00 on Friday. pic.twitter.com/kuom46lToV
