Eskom implements varying stages of load-shedding over the long weekend

The power utility says high levels of breakdowns of generating units contribute to the continuing generation capacity constraints.

Eskom says load-shedding stage 4 will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 tomorrow. Thereafter, various stages of load-shedding will be implemented.

The power utility says breakdowns are currently at 283MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity is out of service.

Varies stages will be implemented this long weekend.

“Over the past 24 hours, a generation unit at Kriel Power Station was returned to service.

“In the same period, a generating unit at each Camden and Duvha power stations was taken offline for repairs. The delays in returning a unit to service at Kendal and two units each at Kriel and Tutuka power stations contributed to the current capacity constraints,” says the power utility.
