Eskom has announced that load-shedding will be escalated from stage 4 to stage 6 from 20:00.

The power utility says stage 6 power cuts will remain in effect until 05:00 tomorrow, whereafter stage 4 load-shedding will return until further notice.

“In order to create space to replenish the emergency generation reserves, Eskom will implement stage 6 load-shedding from 20:00 until 05:00 tomorrow.

“Thereafter stage 4 load-shedding will be implemented until further notice with the possibility that stage 6 load-shedding might again be implemented during Sunday night,” the power utility adds.
