Fassi to wing it for Sharks

The Sharks will take on the Lions in a Currie Cup match in KZN today.

The Sharks have called Aphelele Fassi into the starting lineup in a crunch Currie Cup match against the Lions in Durban on Saturday.

Having played off the bench in the 35-9 win over the Griffons in Welkom, Fassi will start on the left wing in one of six changes to the starting lineup.

Centre Alwayno Visagie and scrumhalf Tiaan Fourie get starting opportunities, in place of Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Bradley Davids respectively.

There are a further three changes to the pack, as hooker Fez Mbatha and loosehead Khwezi Mona are recalled, while Henco Venter replaces Celimpilo Gumede at No 8.

The Sharks are top of the log going into the penultimate round of the Currie Cup, but are just two points ahead of the second-placed Cheetahs.
