Father lays sexual assault charge against brother

A father of two children has opened a sexual assault case against his brother after his children alleged their uncle had sexually assaulted them in Norkem Park, on the East Rand.

Norkem Park police spokesman, Captain Lesibana Molokomme said the father alleged that his six and seven-year-old children had told him that their uncle had touched them on their private parts while he was with them on the bed, Kempton Express reported.

The complainant reported the matter to the police last Friday. The 23-year-old suspect will face charges of sexual assault in the Kempton Park Magistrates` Court soon.

Last month, a KwaZulu-Natal man was sentenced to ten years behind bars for raping his eight-year-old niece.

The child was visiting her grandmother in Bhucanana on August 23, 2013.

While she was sleeping, her uncle carried her to his bed and raped her, said police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane.

The child told her mother and a case of rape was opened at Ntambanana police station.

Her uncle was arrested in March 2015 and his trial was held at the Empangeni Regional Court.
