Fidelity employees survive cash-in-transit robbery attempt on N3 in Pietermaritzburg

Fidelity employees escape unharmed after a cash-in-transit robbery attempt on the N3 just after Hayfields.

Two Fidelity employees escaped unharmed last night after an attempted cash-in-transit robbery in Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg.

According to The Witness, the employees were reportedly returning to their base camp with the day’s collections when they came under gunfire on the N3 just after Hayfields.

When The Witness arrived at the base camp, several police vehicles were parked outside, with the management team co-ordinating with SAPS members.

One manager said the two employees managed to drive back to the base without injury.

Motorists who witnessed the incident described it in social media voice notes as something out of a movie.
