Former SAA chairperson Dudu Myeni dies aged 60

The Jacob Zuma Foundation chairperson was unable to attend her recent court appearance due to ill health.

Former SAA chairperson and confidante of former president Jacob Zuma, Dudu Myeni, has died at the age of 60.

In a statement released this afternoon, the JG Zuma Foundation, which Myeni chaired, confirmed that she died last night.

“The foundation confirms with a heavy heart that its chairperson, Ms Dudu Myeni, passed on last night. The family is still dealing with these sad developments and will not be entertaining any media enquiries. The foundation is requesting the media to respect the family’s position,” the foundation said.

Myeni, who was facing corruption charges at the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court, had been unwell in recent months. In her recent scheduled court appearance, Myeni was unable to attend due to ill health.
