Four people suffered minor to moderate injuries when a vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a goods train in the Garebo area, near Hluhluwe.

The driver of the vehicle, Simangele Buthelezi, said the incident occurred when her vehicle stalled while she was driving over the railway crossing.

‘I tried to restart it, but it was too late.’

uMkhanyakude Police Cluster spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, said a case of reckless driving was registered at the Hluhluwe police station for investigation.
