Fourways woman shot and injured during armed robbery
Cases of attempted murder and armed robbery have been opened after an unidentified woman was shot and injured in a driveway in Fourways, north of Johannesburg yesterday.
Douglasdale police spokesperson Warrant Officer Balan Muthan told The Citizen the woman was followed into her premises when three armed suspects approached her.
Muthan added the suspects shot the woman on her arm and took her jewellery.
Paramedics were on the scene, and the woman was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The woman is reportedly in a stable condition, as she sustained a gunshot to her arm.
No arrests have been made.
In a separate incident, two unidentified pastors from Burundi were robbed of R220 000 in Douglasdale, Gauteng last month.
The two pastors flew into South Africa last Thursday and arranged temporary residence at Inyati Sands Estate on Leslie Avenue in Douglasdale. The suspects had allegedly followed the victims from the airport and held them at gunpoint upon arrival at their residence.
Luggage, which contained passports and money, and one briefcase were stolen.
