Gauteng father in court after rape of daughter (26)

The daughter reported the matter to the Boipatong Police Station, and her 47-year-old father was subsequently arrested.

A 47-year-old man from the Gauteng township Boipatong is expected to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court today to answer to a charge of rape.

This is after the man allegedly raped his 26-year-old daughter at their home on January 23.

Local police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports the suspect was arrested on Thursday after the victim opened a case at the Boipatong Police Station.

“The victim alleges that her father came to her room on the night and raped her. The matter was reported to the police, and the suspect was subsequently arrested.”

The station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Puleng Mokoena, welcomes the arrest and reassures the community that police and the Community Policing Forum will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of women and children.
