Gauteng man with throat cut found in his bathtub

Unconfirmed reports state the man was attacked.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT-Sa) says that on Sunday night around 19:20, their Vaal crew responded to an incident in Kookrus, Meyerton, where a man was allegedly attacked.

“Upon arrival, a male patient was found, deceased in his bathtub, with his throat lacerated,” a statement by the emergency services provider reads.

It adds: “The patient was declared dead on arrival by our medical personnel. The scene was handed over to police.”

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear.

Police are yet to provide a statement on the matter but it is believed that they have launched an inquest.
