Gauteng’s Covid-19 active cases stand at 16 514
Some 378 new cases recorded.

Gauteng’s overall Covid-19 positive cases climbed to 225 559 with 204 424 recoveries and 4 621 deaths thus far, according to figures published by the Department of Health.
This saw the province having about 16 514 active cases.
The Gauteng province recorded 378 new cases on Monday.
The Department of Health said out of 147 286 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19), 129 261 people have completed the 10 days monitoring period, with no symptoms reported and were de-isolated.
The number of hospitalised people due to Covid-19 in the province stood at 1 767.
Breakdown per district of cases and recoveries:
- Johannesburg: 89 920 cases and 83 985 recoveries
- Ekurhuleni: 50 341 cases and 48 988 recoveries
- Tshwane: 50 787 cases and 47 413 recoveries
- Sedibeng: 15 238 cases and 11 786 recoveries
- West Rand: 14 425 cases and 12 252 recoveries
