George husband arrested after reporting wife’s murder to police

After the man reported the incident, police discovered his wife's body with multiple stab wounds.

A 41-year-old man was arrested yesterday for allegedly stabbing his wife (51) to death at a guesthouse in Aspeling Street, George, in the Western Cape.

Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says the man reported the incident at the George Police Station shortly after it happened.

“Members attached to the George police were dispatched to the scene at about 09:50. On arrival they found the victim with multiple stab wounds in the bedroom of a guest house.

She was declared dead by medical personnel on the scene, and the man was arrested on a murder charge.

“The motive for this killing is yet to be established. It forms part of the ongoing police probe,” says Spies.

The suspect remains in custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
