Hartbeespoort man fatally shoots mother and daughter
What should have been a fun afternoon by the pool, turned into a nightmare when two women were killed.
A man (61) shot and killed a mother (58) and daughter (31) with a hunting rifle in Hartbeespoort yesterday.
Magdaleen Prinsloo and her daughter Ruzanne Weideman were shot at Prinsloo’s home in Kosmos.
According to information received, the family had guests and were outside by the swimming pool during the shooting.
Police spokesperson Constable Ben Moabi says an argument between the man and the two women broke out around 14:00.
“The suspect fetched a hunting rifle and [allegedly] shot and killed both women. They were declared dead at the scene by emergency services.
“The man was arrested on the scene and will appear in the Brits Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of murder,” Moabi says.
An investigation is underway.
