Here’s your load-shedding schedule for the next few days

Eskom says, starting today, stage 4 and stage 5 load-shedding will be implemented until further notice.

Eskom has released the load-shedding schedule for the next few days with both stage 4 and stage 5 that will be implemented.

Stage 5 load-shedding will be implemented from 16:00 today until 05:00 tomorrow. Thereafter, stage 4 will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 tomorrow.

“This pattern will be repeated daily until further notice. Eskom will publish another update as soon as any significant changes occur,” the power utility says in a media statement.

According to Eskom, breakdowns are currently at 18 177MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity out of service due to planned maintenance is 2 629MW.

“Over the past 24 hours, a generating unit each at Duvha, Kriel, Majuba, Medupi and Tutuka power stations were returned to service. In the same period, a generating unit each at Arnot, Camden, Tutuka and two generating units at Kriel power stations were taken out of service due to breakdowns.”

The power utility says the delay in returning units to service at Arnot, Kendal, Kriel, Lethabo, Matla and Tutuka and two generating units at Hendrina power stations, continues to add to the current capacity constraints.

“The team is working tirelessly to ensure that generating units are returned to service as soon as possible.”
