Home Affairs offices open on Saturdays from tomorrow

Make sure you collect your ID from Home Affairs before next month’s elections.

The Department of Home Affairs will open its offices on Saturdays from tomorrow until Election Day, May 29.

As South Africa gears up to host the national and provincial elections next month, the Department of Home Affairs has announced that its offices will be open from 08:00 to 13:00, every Saturday, except for the April 27 public holiday, until Election Day.

Services offered on Saturdays include ID collections, the facilitation of new applications and the issuing of temporary IDs.

Citizens can either book an appointment to collect their ID, by using the online Branch Appointment Booking System, or they can go to Home Affairs without making a booking.

The department encourages citizens who have already applied for their ID and received their SMS notification to also seize this opportunity.
