In a separate incident, a Nigerian pastor was killed in his home during loadshedding in eSikhaleni, KwaZulu-Natal last Tuesday. The pastor and spaza shop owner, Kehinde Fabamifobbe, was approached by two gunmen who pretended to be customers. He was shot three times and died on the scene.

KZN community safety MEC Willies Mchunu condemned the killing of Fabamifobbe, labelling it as “totally abhorrent, senseless and inhumane”.

“We condemn it, and we will follow up until there is an arrest and conviction. I would like to call on the community to give the police an opportunity to work on this matter so that those responsible for this abhorrent act should be brought to justice,” said Mchunu.

Fabamifobee was the leader of God’s Love International Ministries and has lived in eSikhaleni since 2004.
