International Space Station: 14 SA places where you can see it tonight
The incredible sighting will be visible in five of the nine provinces, so make sure you don't miss it!
The International Space Station will be passing over South Africa tonight, and there are 14 spots across the country where you can view it from.
George Herald reports that it will be very bright (-3.8 magnitude), and that the space station looks like a bright star that is moving.
The newspaper states there are currently seven astronauts onboard: Two Americans, three Russians, a Japanese and a Dane.
The International Space Station is around 417km above the earth, and travelling at 7.66km/s! It only takes 92 minutes for the weightless laboratory to make a complete circuit of Earth.
Astronauts working and living on the station experience 16 sunrises and sunsets each day.
Besides the seven astronauts onboard the station, there are currently 10 people in space as there are three Chinese astronauts on the new Chinese Space Station called Tiangong.

Viewing in SA starts at 20:24, and Spot The Station notes the station will be visible in:
- Western Province: The Wilderness, Stellenbosch and Cape Town at 20:24.
- Eastern Province: East London, Grahamstown and Gqeberha at 20:25
- KZN: Howick, Pietermaritzburg and Durban at 20:26.
- Free State: Kimberley and Bloemfontein at 20:26.
- Gauteng: Pretoria, Johannesburg and Vanderbijlpark at 20:27.
