Katlehong man accused of keeping daughter as a sex slave

Members of the Katlehong Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence (FCS) Unit arrested a man who allegedly kept his daughter as a sex slave since March.

According to the Katlehong SAPS spokesperson, Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, on January 21, the 18-year-old girl finally reported the matter to the police.

She told the police about her 10-month ordeal of being her own father’s sex slave and how she was often kept in bondage with a chain and a padlock around her ankle.

The teenager also told police her father forced her to take contraceptives to prevent her from falling pregnant.

Confirming the arrest, Mtwa said the suspect appeared in court on January 24 and that there could be more charges added to the charge sheet. More details about the additional charges would be made available during the suspect’s second appearance in court.

Meanwhile, the girl has been moved to a place of safety while her father remains in police custody.
