A tractor driver died in a freak accident in Tongaat, KZN yesterday when he fell from his machine and was run over by it.

Reaction Unit South Africa says the driver was ejected from the tractor and landed under the rear wheel.

According to Medi Response KZN spokesperson Paul Herbst, the emergency rescue team that responded to the incident found no signs of life, and the man was declared dead at the scene.

Fire fighters had to lift the tractor with the use of a pneumatic bag to remove the deceased from under the tractor.

Reaction Unit SA says the tractor was towing a trailer with a front-end loader on it before the accident occurred.
