KZN officer shoots wife, then himself
A senior Hibiscus Coast Law Enforcement officer shot and killed his wife in KwaNzimakwe near Port Edward before shooting himself.
The traffic officer currently remains in a Durban hospital following the shooting incident on Sunday,South Coast Herald reported.
Thokozani Malloy (35) from Nkulu Ward had arrived home on Sunday evening and reportedly asked his three children if they knew the whereabouts of their mother Nontokozo.
“He then took his eldest son (19), to his mother-in-law’s house, which is nearby,” said police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“When the woman opened the door, Officer Malloy entered the house and an argument started. After a few minutes, Nontokozo ran out of the house. Officer Malloy followed her and fired two shots, killing her instantly.”
Mfeka added that the motive behind the shooting remained unknown.
Officer Malloy was transported to the Netcare Margate Hospital and later transferred to a Durban hospital.
In a separate incident, a policeman shot dead his wife at their home in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, in September.The 33-year-old woman had also been a police officer.
