KZN traffic cop, tow truck operator killed: Truck driver sentenced

Ndumiso Petros Dzandibe (35) pleaded guilty after crashing into tow truck driver Kavish Ramnarayan and officer Zithulele Ntshangase.

The Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a truck driver who crashed into an accident scene on the N3 last year, resulting in the death of a tow truck driver and a traffic officer, to an effective 10 years in prison.

This follows his conviction on Monday of two counts of culpable homicide, among other charges.

Ndumiso Petros Dzandibe (35) pleaded guilty after crashing into tow truck driver Kavish Ramnarayan and Road Traffic Inspectorate officer Zithulele Ntshangase, who had been attending to an initial accident involving two heavy duty trucks.
