KZN traffic officers injured in collision on N3

Two traffic officials were seriously injured when a police vehicle apparently crashed into a taxi.

Two traffic police officials were seriously injured after being involved in a car accident on the N3 near Mooi River in KZN yesterday afternoon.

A police vehicle apparently collided with a taxi while carrying out their duties.

Midlands EMS rushed to the scene after being notified about the accident. They commented that the Midlands EMS control room received numerous calls reporting a motor vehicle accident on the N3 at the Mooi River off-ramp.

“Upon arrival, it was discovered that a traffic officer and another official had been struck while performing their duties. Both were in serious condition and required urgent advanced life support treatment.”

Midlands EMS said after both the officials were stabilised on the scene, they were taken to a hospital for further medical care.
