At least 320 injured in Kempton Park train crash
Reports are that one of the trains was stationary due to mechanical failure when the second train crashed into it at Van Riebeeck Park Station.
Numerous passengers were injured when two trains collided at Van Riebeeck Park Railway Station on Thursday evening, Kempton Express reports.
According to a passenger one train rammed into the back of a stationary train. This could not be confirmed yet.
“32 of the 320 injured commuters suffers serious but not critical injuries,” Metrorail said in a statement.
Ekurhuleni Emergency Medical Services said no fatalities have been reported so far.
Emergency services, the fire brigade, metro police and police were on the scene.
